Hello, my name is Sabiha, me and my father are the founder of the “Bashir Uddin Foundation”, a charity I launched in January 2025 to support children in Bangladesh with education, stability, and a chance at a better life. This project is deeply personal to me, rooted in my family’s story and the sacrifices that shaped the person I am today.

I named this organisation after my grandfather, but the true heart behind it comes from my father.

My dad dropped out of school in year 7-not because he lacked ambition, but because he lacked the financial foundation every child deserves. He grew up knowing the value of education, yet also understanding that without money, even the basics like sentence making and school books were impossible luxuries. While my grandfather hoped he would continue his studies, my father carried a heavier truth: his family needed stability more than anything else. So he left school to work, not for himself, but to make sure his siblings could stay in education without the same burden he experienced.

His sacrifice became the foundation of our family.

Years later, after building a life through resilience and hard work, my father was able to start a charity organisation with me in his fathers name, allowing us to help children today who face the same struggles he once did.

The mission of my foundation is simple but powerful: no child should have to drop out of school because of financial constraints.

I was born and raised in London, where education was free-a privilege many children in my home country can only dream of. Last year, me and my dad funded our entire project with our savings and extra hours of work. I travelled to Bangladesh, met the children, heard their stories and realised how life-changing even a small amount of support can be.

This year, in January 2026, I will be returning to Bangladesh to continue the work we started. With your help, we will:

• provide full year-long scholarships for talented students from low-income families

• cover admission fees for children entering school

• give students new school uniforms and essential supplies for the entire year

• support high-school admissions for older students

• reduce the number of children forced to drop out due to financial hardship

Every donation - no matter the size - directly supports a child’s education. It gives them the chance my father never had. It gives them dignity, hope, and a path out of poverty.

To me, this isn’t just charity, it’s a legacy. It’s my father’s story rewritten through the lives of children who deserve better. It’s the start of a movement that can change generations.

One thing for sure is - we can’t help everyone, but everyone can work together to help eachother.
