Hello, my name is Amanda Ray. I am a single mother of two children, ages 14 and 5, and I work as a Community Support Professional supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Caring for others is not just my job — it’s who I am — and providing stability, safety, and love for my own children is my greatest responsibility.

On January 3, 2026, my life changed in an instant..

While driving on the highway with my son, we were rear-ended in a serious accident. By the grace of God, we survived — but my vehicle did not. It was totaled, leaving us without reliable transportation overnight.

This happened during an already incredibly difficult time. Like so many families, I’ve been struggling financially and doing everything I can to keep us afloat. Losing my car created a ripple effect that has made even the most basic daily responsibilities overwhelming.

Transportation is not a luxury for me — it is a necessity. As a working single mom, my children rely on me for safe, consistent transportation, including getting to and from school and childcare. Without a vehicle, our entire routine — and our stability — has been disrupted.

I have explored every possible option to replace my car. Unfortunately, my current credit situation has made it impossible to qualify for a traditional auto loan. The only offers available to me have been predatory “buy here, pay here” dealerships with interest rates of 24% or higher — terms that would only push my family deeper into financial hardship.

In the meantime, I’ve been forced to rely on rental vehicles just to continue working and caring for my children. These rentals come with overwhelming and unsustainable fees, and each passing week without a permanent solution adds more stress and financial strain.

I am humbly asking for help to secure a reliable vehicle — one that will allow me to continue working, care for my children, and regain stability after this sudden and traumatic event. A dependable car would give my family the chance to move forward, rebuild, and finally breathe again.
