HELP MIDAS GET THE CARE HE DESERVES
I'm raising funds for my dear friend Steven, whose beloved dog Midas recently went through a life threatening medical emergency. Midas is not just a pet; he is family.
He was originally a service dog for Steven's brother, David, who battled brain cancer. After David passed away, Steven took Midas in and has cared for him ever since. Midas is a loyal companion and a living connection to someone deeply loved.
Recently, Midas was rushed to the vet after showing serious signs of internal distress. X-rays and an ultrasound revealed three masses on his spleen. One had ruptured, causing severe internal bleeding and making emergency surgery absolutely necessary. He was in critical condition with rapidly dropping blood pressure, requiring immediate medical intervention to save his life. The veterinary team acted quickly to stabilize him with IV fluids, plasma, and a blood transfusion. Within a few hours, Midas was taken into surgery to have his spleen removed. Thankfully, the procedure went well. The vet that performed the operation said they had never seen a dog lose that much blood and survive. It was a true testament to Midas's strength and the excellent care he received.
Midas is now in recovery. The spleen and the masses have been sent out for a biopsy. While cancer is suspected, we will not know for certain for a few more days.
Midas is everything to Steven. He's a source of comfort, unconditional love, and a powerful connection to his late brother. All we want is to give Midas the best chance to recover and enjoy a full, healthy life. Unfortunately, the cost of his emergency care, surgery, and ongoing treatment has quickly become overwhelming.
That is why I am asking for your help. Whether you choose to donate or simply share this campaign, your support can truly make a difference for Midas and Steven.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion during a difficult time.
