Hi, my name is Mathilde.

From Roots to Futures — A New Beginning in Frankadua, Ghana

Dear friends, family, and kind supporters,

I want to share something very real with you.

I have secured 3 acres of land in Frankadua, Ghana, and the land is almost ready. The next step is planting maize and cassava — two essential crops that are deeply rooted in daily life and nutrition across Ghana.

Maize and cassava are not just crops — they are staples.

They can be transformed into foods that nourish families every day, such as porridge, banku, gari, fufu, and other essential meals. These are foods that are filling, accessible, and culturally familiar — the kind of meals that truly sustain communities.

For me, this is where everything begins.

This land will produce food that can directly help feed children, while also creating the foundation for something much bigger.

After the first harvest, I will begin Phase 2: creating a safe and supportive space for children after school.

I plan to rent a home or even build and transform it into a place where children can:

    •    Feel safe and cared for

    •    Do their homework and access books

    •    Explore art, creativity, and activities

    •    Play, grow, and build confidence

    •    And receive a warm, nourishing meal made from the very crops grown on this land

At the same time, this project will create employment opportunities for local mothers, allowing them to earn income while helping prepare meals and care for the children in their own community.

This is not just about helping — it’s about creating something sustainable:

Growing food, transforming it, feeding children, and creating opportunity.

I am currently raising funds to support:

    •    The planting and maintenance of maize and cassava crops

    •    Seeds, tools, and local labor

    •    Harvesting and basic food transformation (such as milling, drying, and preparation)

    •    The future after-school home

    •    Food, supplies, and educational materials for the children
