About Nathan Flack
Nathan is an unflinching, brilliant Special Operations Collector who has leveraged his talents at the forefront of our nation's defense. Serving in elite organizations like Delta Force or as a Certified core collector with Other Government Agencies, Nathan's uncompromising drive to win has been the hallmark of several successful operations. He has since carried these qualities into academia, and the MMA arena, where he maintained an undefeated amateur record.
In contrast to the nature of Special Operations work, Nathan is also the doting father and husband often portrayed in any movie - sensitive, attentive, passionate, and protective. He is the sole provider for his beautiful wife and daughters.
Pre Hospitalization
Nathan is a co-owner of a fledgling business that managed to survive and grow during the Covid Crisis. Over the summer, he was the technical lead on his company's contract, serving as a Department of Defense mentor and exercise coordinator. On August 18th, with no prior history of systemic illness, Nathan became suddenly ill and was admitted to San Antonio Hospital. His condition quickly worsened, and he was upgraded to the ICU.
The Diagnosis
On August 24th, Nathan learned that he has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. This ruthless disease causes your body's immune system attacks your nerves regardless of location. This means that anywhere from the brain to the arms, legs, or lungs could be targeted.

Hospital Costs
According to the National Institute of Health, the mean cost per patient with GBS was $318,966 in 2008 (ref - Economic cost of Guillain-Barré syndrome). Medical expenses have increased on average by 6% year over year (ref- Annual percentage change in medical costs). Therefore, the average per-patient cost for treatment of Guillain-Barré syndrome is $763,011.
Long Road Ahead
It will get worse before it gets better. Currently, Nathan is paralyzed in his hands and feet, which means simple functions like using the phone or using the restroom are monumental tasks. It takes months to recover. During this journey, he will need to relearn everyday physical tasks like how to walk, brush his teeth, and write his name. However, if GBS travels to his internal organs or respiratory system, Nathan's fight will be even more daunting.
