We are raising funds for equipment that will allow Unchained Confections to grow production and create second-chance employment opportunities.

Unchained Confections was born out of a story of redemption. After spending time in prison, I was given a second chance by people who believed my life could become something different. What started as a personal journey of rebuilding has grown into a handcrafted caramel business built on faith, hard work, and the belief that a broken past does not have to define a person’s future.

Over the past year, that second chance has grown into something real. Our small team has been handcrafting every batch of caramel, cutting and wrapping each piece by hand, and bringing Unchained Confections to farmers markets, local events, and our growing community of supporters. We have been incredibly humbled by the encouragement, support, and excitement people have shown for both our caramels and the mission behind them.

As the business has grown, we have reached a point where our current production process can no longer keep up with demand. Every batch still requires hours of cooking, cutting, and wrapping by hand, which limits how much product we can produce each week. While we are proud of the craftsmanship behind our caramels, this slow and labor-intensive process makes it difficult to produce enough product to support larger events, expand into wholesale opportunities, and continue growing the mission of Unchained Confections.

To solve this bottleneck and prepare for the next phase of growth, we need to invest in equipment that will allow Unchained Confections to scale sustainably and continue to expand our mission. Our goal is to purchase three key pieces of equipment that will dramatically improve production capacity and consistency.

These tools will help us cook caramel more efficiently, cut product with uniform precision, and wrap pieces at a scale that allows the business to grow.

Where the Money Goes

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward purchasing the equipment needed to scale our production:

Savage Bros Firemaker-14 Cooker

Allows us to cook caramel more consistently and significantly reduce batch production time.

Caramel Cutter

Creates uniform caramel pieces quickly and efficiently, preparing them for wrapping.

Rose Forgrove 22B Wrapping Machine

Streamlines the most labor-intensive part of our process and allows us to scale production far beyond what is currently possible by hand.

Our long-term equipment goal is approximately $120,000, and every contribution helps move us closer to making this vision possible.

Each of these pieces plays a critical role in helping Unchained Confections move from a small handcrafted operation into a sustainable production business.

These upgrades will allow us to increase production, improve consistency, and expand into larger events and wholesale opportunities. More importantly, they will create the foundation needed to begin hiring individuals in recovery and those reentering society after incarceration.

The same second chance that changed my life is the same opportunity we hope to extend to others through meaningful work, stability, and community.
