From Pastor to Parkinson's to a Breakthrough Treatment

Hello, I’m Mark Clark.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Bob and Laura Niemond for nearly 40 years.

Bob and I graduated from seminary together, and for the past 30 years, he has faithfully served as Senior Pastor for numerous churches. Over the last decade, he has dedicated his life to discipling and coaching others, both in the U.S. and abroad.

Recently, Bob shared with me how his Parkinson's disease has progressed. He also mentioned a new treatment that offers real hope.

A bit of background:
Last year, Bob underwent Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery at Stanford, which successfully reduced his tremors. However, it didn’t fully address other debilitating symptoms, such as brain fog, difficulty speaking, and slowed mobility. Bob now describes his movement as “Segwaying”—a shuffle that leaves him unstable and exhausted when walking.

For years, Bob has followed the work of a biomedical company called Zhyttia (pronounced ZEE-cha), which has developed a promising drug called FGF-1—a naturally occurring protein. Even a Stanford neurologist has described it as “promising.” The treatment crosses the blood-brain barrier—a major scientific challenge—and promotes blood vessel regrowth in the brain. Remarkably, it’s delivered through a simple nasal spray, with no surgery required.

Although this treatment is not FDA approved at this time, there has been tremendous success with hundreds of patients.

The cost is $50K which includes travel to the Bahamas, a medical team, the week long treatment and a lifetime of medicine sent to Bob in the United States every six months.

I have always had profound respect for Bob, whose life and sacrifice have been dedicated to God, family, and a lost world. He has given so much for others, and in his time of great need, I feel compelled to give back.

And I am praying that you will join me.
