From Passion to Plate: Help Fund My Culinary Education!

Hi everyone, my name is Linette Rangel, and I’m seeking financial help to attend culinary school at Johnson & Wales University. I recently received an amazing offer from JWU, and I truly believe this is a wonderful opportunity to continue my education and grow in the culinary industry.
Growing up all my most vivid memories were around food. If that was sore arms from making hallaca dough, observing my mom frost my birthday cake every year or my uncles rolling pan de jamon every Christmas. I was always open to trying new foods and watching my family cook. My Venezuelan and Guatemalan heritage has given me a deep appreciation for bold flavors, vibrant dishes, and cultural traditions.
During high school, I attended public school until my freshman year, then transitioned to an online academy to gain hands-on experience in the restaurant industry. I have been working at a Mexican restaurant for two years, starting as a host, then being trained as both a server, and assistant manager. This experience has given me valuable insight into restaurant operations, all while balancing my academics and work responsibilities.
I am raising $22,000 to pursue my passion for food and culture by attending Johnson & Wales University, where I aim to earn a Bachelor’s in Food and Beverage Management and an Associate’s in Culinary Arts. Growing up in a Venezuelan and Guatemalan family, I was introduced to incredible international flavors and traditional dishes that ignited my love for cooking. My dream is to create a business where I can share my knowledge, celebrate diverse cuisines, and inspire others through food. Financial support will help me take this important step toward turning my passion into a reality. Any contribution brings me closer to achieving these goals!
My Dream
My ultimate goal is to open a Venezuelan fusion restaurant, where I can keep Venezuelan food culture alive while creatively blending it with other cuisines. I envision a fine dining experience, where I can serve authentic yet innovative dishes as both the owner and head chef.
This journey is a big dream of mine, but I need your support to make it a reality. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help me cover tuition, supplies, and expenses as I work toward my Bachelor’s in Food & Beverage Management and an Associate’s in Culinary Arts.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you are unable to donate, sharing this post would also mean a lot to me. I truly appreciate all your support on this journey!
