Meet James Houbart—a passionate, determined, and hard-working 12-year-old with a big dream: to one day play professional soccer.

Born in Paris, France, James has been dribbling a ball since the age of 3. Whether it’s a backyard, a field, or the living room floor, soccer has always been more than just a sport to him—it’s a way of life.

This spring, James received exciting news: he was selected for the Mendocino County Soccer Academy's Select Team! This opportunity is a major milestone and a big leap toward his dream of playing at the highest level. He is proud and thrilled to represent Mendocino County and compete with some of the most talented players in the region.

But dreams come with dedication—and sometimes a financial hurdle.

The cost of the program for the Fall and Spring select team season is $1,597, which does not cover uniforms or supplies. We’re reaching out to friends, family, and our supportive community to help make this next step possible for James.
