Hi, my name is Leslie, and I’m the proud mom of Benjamin, my sweet 4-year-old Malinois Shepherd mix.

Benjamin isn’t just a dog — he’s my best friend, my protector, and my constant source of joy. He’s always been full of energy, running around, playing fetch, and greeting everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile. But lately, that spark in his eyes has dimmed. Benjamin recently tore his CCL (cranial cruciate ligament), and it’s been heartbreaking to watch him struggle just to walk, let alone play like he used to.

His surgery is scheduled for May 15th, 2025, and while I’ve done everything in my power to prepare for it — applying for grants, cutting back on every possible expense — I’ve hit a wall. Many grants won’t accept his case, and I’m running out of options.

This surgery isn’t optional — it’s the only way Benjamin can live a pain-free, happy life again. It breaks my heart to see him hurting, knowing he doesn’t understand why he can’t chase his favorite ball or jump into my arms like he used to.
