Hi everyone,

Our names are Summer and Max Garrison, and we’ve created this GoFundMe for our dad, Milan Garrison, our rock, our hero, and one of the kindest, strongest souls you could ever meet.

For over a decade, our dad has been fighting a quiet, unimaginable battle:

Despite all of this, he has never stopped smiling, making people laugh, or lifting others up, even when he was struggling. If you’ve ever met him, even just once, you’ve felt his warmth, his humor, and his heart. He has worked really hard to make his struggle invisible, and it breaks his heart that he can no longer hide it.

Right now, he urgently needs a double transplant (both a new heart and new kidneys) in order to survive. He will be in the hospital for the next few weeks/months. The transplant waitlist is long, and he has been waiting almost 10 years.

During this time, both of our parents—my dad and my mom Lisa (who is the strongest woman I know)—are struggling as work has become more and more limited and inconsistent as the effects of his heart and kidney failure worsen. With savings depleting and medical bills and living expenses piling up, we are struggling. Our family members are helping the best that they can and it's been extremely helpful and we're so grateful for them. With that said, we are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for your help too.
