Hi, my name is Scarlett, and my heart is breaking as I write this. My sweet 4-year-old dachshund, Delilah, is in desperate need of urgent spine surgery after an accident today that costs $10,000. Without it, she will be in unbearable pain, paralysed and will have to be put down.

Delilah has been my shadow, my comfort, and my best friend through every high and low. She’s the little heartbeat that follows me from room to room, the wagging tail that greets me no matter how bad the day has been. She’s still so young and full of life, and she doesn’t understand why she can’t run and play like she used to.

I’ve just moved out of home, and my single mum simply can’t afford this surgery on her own. Without help, Delilah will have her life cut short. I can’t imagine her going through this without a chance to get better.
