From Orchestra to Public Reform: Help Me Study at Indiana University
Hi, my name is Zhanbota. I'm a musician from Kazakhstan. At present, I am holding the 2nd flute/piccolo position at the State Theater Astana Opera.
In 2021, I went to pursue my Master of Music Degree at Lynn University Conservatory of Music, where I studied with The Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Flute Professor Jeffrey Khaner. I graduated from the university in May 2023.
That experience totally changed my worldview.
After returning home, I realized I want to do more—not just work inside the system, but understand it and help improve it.
So, in November 2025, I applied to Indiana University's MPA program for Fall 2026.
And I got in.
I was also given a 50% tuition remission, which means a lot to me.
But to get my U.S. student visa, I need to show I can cover the remaining tuition and relocation costs—about $75,000. I can't do this alone.
I'm applying for scholarships, but time is limited.
If you can support me or share this, it would truly mean a lot.
Thank you.
