My name is Dawn Greene, and I've created this GoFundMe on behalf of our father, brother, and friend, Jeremy Hay. On Friday, August 22nd, 2025, Jeremy suffered a stroke and is currently receiving care at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Jeremy is a longtime resident of Marion, Iowa, where he lives with his brother Chad. He attended Prairie High School and became a well-known figure in the local music scene as the guitarist and vocalist for the bands Greener and Chubby. If you personally know Jeremy, you know him to always have a guitar near. Recently, he started to teach guitar lessons as my son is/was one of his students. Jeremy is a proud father to two children--Maddie (24) and Lyndon (20).

At just 49 years old, Jeremy now faces a long and uncertain road to recovery. He is currently paralyzed on his right side, has a feeding tube, unable to work, and currently does not have health insurance. In addition to medical and rehabilitation expenses, there are urgent financial needs at home that need to be met as many more begin to pile up.

The next steps are to gather resources that will help make life functional and accessible for Jeremy as he works toward recovery. While there's still uncertainty about what lies ahead, this is the foundation we can build on for now.
