Hi, my name is Phoebe, and I’m a middle school student who was nominated to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC. This is a rare opportunity, and I’m really excited about the chance to go.

I’m an AVID student, and I’m involved in yearbook, student council, and Girl Scouts, where this is my 8th year. I’ve earned my Girl Scouts Bronze Award, and I’m currently working on planning my Silver Award to help make a difference in my community. I’m also a clarinet player, was invited to the All County Band last year, keep All A Honor Roll, have had my art shown in an art show, and have received a school character award.

The total cost of the conference is just under $4,000, and my family is also responsible for travel expenses. This is a big goal, but it’s an opportunity I would truly love to take because it would help me grow as a leader and learn skills I can use in school and beyond.
