Hey everyone, Tank here.
During my time serving in the U.S. Navy, an injury changed everything for me. I was medically retired after sustaining an injury that developed into a rare neurological condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) that left me unable to use my right foot from the ankle down while I was on active duty. Just before my injury, I was set to get my motorcycle endorsement and my first motorcycle. However, being diagnosed with CRPS cost me my military career and my dream of riding.
Here's the thing about warriors though—we don't stay down.
Through countless hours of physical therapy, determination, refusing to give up, and getting a spinal stimulator implanted, I've regained some use of my foot. Recently, I received the news I'd been working toward: my doctor cleared me to start riding.
Now I'm reaching out to ask for help accomplishing my dream of getting on two wheels. I'm looking to purchase a motorcycle after I've completed the steps to get my endorsement and gain that sense of freedom and independence that riding provides.
For others like me, not just veterans, a motorcycle isn't just transportation—it's therapy, it's community, it's proof that our injuries don't define our limits. It represents the freedom we fought to protect.
Any contribution, no matter the size, gets me closer to the road ahead. If you can't donate, sharing this campaign means the world to me.
Thank you for standing with this old sailor as I continue my journey forward.
Semper Fortis,
Tank
