Please help me survive this breast cancer…
I have visited this website numerous times. I was hesitant to reach out, but I was so inspired by people’s stories and the random acts of kindness toward others.
So here is my story…
In late January of 2024, I was on a trip as a flight attendant when I lost my voice. I was immediately sent home because in my job, having no voice becomes a major safety issue. After weeks of an extreme case of laryngitis, I was diagnosed with a rare condition…MTD (Muscular Tension Dysphonia). MTD is an inflammation and spasm of the “false” vocal cords or rather the area around the vocal cords. It has no prescribed medication other than speech therapy. After 15 months of continuous speech therapy, I finally had my vocal cords healed with the hope of a return to work as a flight attendant on May 1st, 2025.
Upon my physician’s approval for returning to work, she recommended I receive my annual mammogram.
Upon doing so, much to my dismay, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Due to the cancer treatments, I have had to extend my time away from work. My personal and medical bills are mounting, and I have reached the point to ask for help to cover some of these expenses. I applied and received a few grants through various breast cancer foundations. Also helpful were generous donations and emotional support from close friends.
I am now trying to raise funds for myself as I navigate this challenging journey.
I appreciate your consideration of my situation and any help you can offer.
