Hi, my name is Cherie and I am Sydney’s Grandma. My daughter, Danae, is Sydney’s mom. Sydney is our beloved 9-year-old black lab who has filled our lives with joy, love, and endless adventures.

Sydney and Danae are two well-traveled girls. Sydney was born in Montana, where she spent her early years hiking in the mountains. She then moved to Nashville, where she reigned as queen of her 3-acre backyard (complete with a pool she practically lived in!). For the past five years, Sydney has been happily settled in Michigan, where she continues to make memories camping with Grandma and Grandpa.

Sydney’s favorite thing in the whole world has always been chasing a ball, but sadly, she hasn’t been able to do that for some time. She misses chasing balls, going to parks, and taking walks with her mom. She is in constant pain, limping, and avoiding putting weight on her leg. After seeing her vet, we learned that she needs Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgery to repair her knee. Without this surgery, Sydney’s mobility and quality of life will continue to decline.

Sydney has been Danae’s best friend through life’s toughest times, including the isolation of COVID. She was always there with unconditional love when Danae needed her most. Now Sydney needs Danae, and all of us, to help her get the care she deserves.

The surgery is costly, and we need help to make it possible. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Sydney’s medical care so she can get back to being the happy, active pup we all know and love.
