Hi Friends & Familia,
This is not something I ever imagined writing, and if I’m honest, asking for help is incredibly uncomfortable for me.
I’ve always been the first person to give and the last person to ask.
But right now, our family is standing at a crossroads, and I’m choosing to be honest about where we are.
My husband Darius has been working in Kuwait for the past 4 years while our daughter Imani and I have been world schooling. His job there has been the foundation that has allowed our family to build this life and keep our dreams moving forward.
But, with the rapidly rising tensions in the Middle East, everything changed almost overnight. Over the past few days, we’ve had to make an incredibly difficult decision: Darius will be leaving his job and evacuating Kuwait for his safety.
This decision hasn’t been easy. We’ve wrestled deeply with it.
But, asking him to stay and endure increasing threats and uncertainty, felt like a risk we simply couldn’t live with. So we’re choosing family. We’re choosing safety.
Darius now has to leave Kuwait quickly and travel by land into Saudi Arabia before flying to Portugal, where Imani and I are currently staying for the next few weeks.
Because of how sudden this situation has become, he won’t have time to pack or bring our belongings.
We are leaving behind our home, our stability, and everything we’ve built in Kuwait.
In many ways, we are starting from zero.
No household items.
No personal belongings.
No job waiting on the other side.
Just the hope of being together again.
This was not how we expected this year to begin.
But what matters most to us right now is bringing our family back together safely.
We are humbly asking for support as we navigate this sudden transition.
Any contributions will help us with:
• Darius’ emergency travel and exit journey
• Temporary housing and living expenses while we stabilize
• Replacing essential items left behind in Kuwait
• Supporting our family while we search for new work and build our brand
Darius is an incredible husband and father who has spent years sacrificing time away from us to provide and support our family. Our greatest wish right now is simply to have him home safely and begin rebuilding together.
If you’re able to support, share, or even just keep our family in your prayers, it would mean more than we can express.
Thank you for standing with us during a moment we never expected to face.
With gratitude,
Chantal, Darius & Imani
