Help Us Keep Rescuing Dogs Like Lilac and Judge
Hey my name is Jules, and I’m raising funds to support Promise 4 Paws Rescue, who stepped in to care for a sweet dog named Lilac, and to continue my own rescue efforts.
On April 17, I rescued Lilac and three other dogs from a kill shelter in Kern County, CA. They were all young and healthy but were set to be euthanized the next day simply due to “lack of interest”.
My original plan was to transport the two larger dogs (Lilac and Judge) to a no-kill shelter in Las Vegas and the two smaller ones (Romeo and Jonesy) to a no-kill shelter in Flagstaff, AZ. But after driving over five hours, the Vegas shelter turned Lilac and Judge away—despite prior email approval.
Thankfully, Romeo and Jonesy were warmly accepted in Flagstaff, and I found a loving home in Virginia for Judge! But due to the urgency of the situation, I had to pay out of pocket for his flight and travel crate supplies.
Long story short, what I thought would be a 3-day, $350 rescue for one dog quickly became a 7-day, $1,250 mission that saved four lives. And I would do it again— but I’ve realized I can’t keep doing it alone.
Lilac is now safe with Promise 4 Paws, but since they don’t have fosters or a kennel facility, they’re paying for daily vet boarding, food, and routine medical care (along with her recent $350 spay). They urgently need help to continue caring for Lilac while she waits for her forever home.
I’m raising:
• $1,300 for Promise 4 Paws to continue Lilac’s care
• $800 for my future rescue efforts
I’m already carrying significant credit and student loan debt—but I’m done using that as a reason not to help. If you believe in second chances please consider donating. Anything helps! But if you’re not able to, please share.
Thank you so much for your support.
Also, Lilac, Romeo and Jonesy are all still looking for their forever homes!!
Lilac is in Orange County CA with Promise 4 Paws rescue.
Romeo and Jonesy are at Coconino Humane Association in AZ.
