Just days ago, Vista Center was informed that the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) immediately terminated funding for three of our paid interns—young adults who are blind or have low vision and are gaining the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive.
This abrupt policy shift doesn’t just pause their progress—it threatens to undo it. These internships provide more than a paycheck. For young people with visual impairments, a paid internship can be the turning point: a chance to prove their skills, gain financial independence, and break down the barriers that often stand between them and sustainable employment.
We are raising $10,000 to continue supporting these interns while we fight for the restoration of this vital funding. Your donation today will directly fund stipends, training, and the supportive structure that makes these internships successful.
