From Injury to Stability: A Dad’s Story

I never thought I'd be on a platform like this. I used to own a successful gym business years ago. After divorce in 2017 I had to sell the gym. I went back to doing construction and had my own handyman business. I got an opportunity to open another business and went for it. The rent was too high, and profits were not good, and I had to leave it in debt. I still had my handyman work thankfully. In March, I fell on the job and hurt my back and knees. I am in pain every day and don't know if I will need surgery. I realized I must change professions. I found a program at a local college (Wake Tech) that will train for certain computer jobs. The debt from business, medical bills from fall, looming taxes, a couple of months behind on rent, food, gas, daughter, and car payments has put me in an awful situation. If I can clear some of this debt, it would put me in a position to take these courses and have some relief while I'm healing from the fall.
