I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

I have lived with Type 2 diabetes for years and, for the most part, I managed it well. In 2022, I even received a clean bill of vision health. I’ve worn glasses since I was young, but everything was stable. In October 2023, I relocated to Arizona and drove there myself with no problems at all.

Then in 2024, something changed.

I noticed my prescription shifting. I found myself taking my glasses off just to read certain things. I scheduled a routine eye exam, thinking I just needed stronger lenses. Instead, my doctor referred me to a specialist. I didn’t think much of it at the time.

That appointment changed everything.

I was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy. I was confused. I had just been “fine.” How does your vision go from stable to critical so quickly?

The specialist also discovered a cataract in my right eye and recommended surgery. I agreed, believing it would correct the issue. But after surgery, my vision didn’t improve — it got worse. I now cannot see anything out of my right eye.

Losing sight in one eye has affected every part of my life.

In March 2025, I lost my job. Shortly after, I made the difficult decision to relocate back to California for support. Since returning, I have received little to no help. I’ve applied for Social Security Disability, but as many of you know, that process takes time.

Right now, my only income is $220 per month.

I can no longer drive. I depend on rides or have to sit out opportunities entirely. For someone who has always been independent — someone who has always hustled and figured it out — this has been one of the hardest seasons of my life.

When people see me, I look “normal.” I put on a brave smile. But inside, I’m grieving. I’m depressed. I’m hurting.

I am humbly asking for help.

Funds raised will go toward:
   •   Housing expenses
   •   Monthly bills
   •   Basic necessities, including clothing
   •   Transportation needs

No amount is too small. Every dollar makes a difference.

If you cannot donate, please share this and keep me in your prayers. I believe this is just a season — but right now, I need community to help me get through it.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for standing with me during one of the most vulnerable chapters of my life.
