Who I Am & what is my dream
Hi, I’m Valeria Itriago—a woman, immigrant, healer, and entrepreneur. My work is centered around helping people heal from trauma through somatic movement, mindfulness, breathwork, and deep embodiment practices.
Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of facilitating healing for individuals and communities through Somatic Healing, Mindfulness, and Breathwork, working at places like Othership NYC, Reforesters Lab in Williamsburg, Casa Cipriani, and various wellness studios.
I guide clients through deep embodiment practices that help them reconnect with their bodies and process their emotions. It’s a life-changing experience for many, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journeys.
However, being an immigrant in NYC has come with its own set of challenges. While I have built a thriving community and business, the path has been far from easy. The immigration system has added a layer of uncertainty to my life. Despite my dedication to this work, my ability to continue living and working in the U.S. is at risk.
I’m currently pursuing political asylum to be able to stay, continue my work, and keep supporting the people who rely on the healing spaces I offer.
Why I Am Raising These Funds
I’m reaching out because I need your support to secure legal assistance for my asylum case.
I am working hard to continue building my career and community, but I cannot do it alone.
The funds will go toward:
- Immigration Lawyer Fees—to ensure my asylum case is handled with the attention and expertise it requires.
- Basic Living Expenses—to cover my rent and other essentials as I navigate this process.
- Growing Samadki—my platform for somatic healing, helping others process trauma through movement, breathwork, and embodiment.
The Need: How the Funds Will Be Used
To cover legal costs and support myself during this transition, I need to raise $15,000:
- Immigration Lawyer & Legal Fees → $11,000
- Continued Healing Work & Community Growth → $4,000
