We came to Canada as international students with a dream: to study, work hard, and one day apply for permanent residency. Like many newcomers, we left behind our country and loved ones to build a better future through education and dedication.

We expected challenges. We knew it would take sacrifice and perseverance. But we never imagined that our journey would include a cancer diagnosis.

Recently, Oscar was rushed to the hospital due to sudden and severe pain. Within hours, our daily routine changed completely. After several tests, CT scans, specialist consultations, and a biopsy, we received the diagnosis: lymphoma.

Those words changed our lives.

At the time of the emergency, we did not have active medical insurance. This means that the hospitalization, CT scans, biopsy, specialist consultations, and doctor fees from that initial period must be covered by us.

Thankfully, he now has medical insurance that will support Oscar’s treatment moving forward. We are deeply grateful for that blessing. However, the medical expenses from the emergency and initial recovery remain our responsibility.

We are hoping to raise **$95,000 CAD** to help cover:

* Emergency hospitalization

* CT scans and diagnostic imaging

* Biopsy procedure and laboratory analysis

* Specialist consultations

* Doctor fees

* Prescribed medications

* Recovery therapies

* Medically recommended special nutrition

Llegamos a Canadá como estudiantes internacionales con un sueño: estudiar, trabajar con esfuerzo y algún día aplicar a la residencia permanente. Como muchos inmigrantes, dejamos nuestro país y seres queridos para construir un futuro mejor a través de la educación y el trabajo.

Sabíamos que habría desafíos y sacrificios. Lo que nunca imaginamos fue enfrentar un diagnóstico de cáncer.

Hace poco, Oscar fue hospitalizado de emergencia debido a dolores intensos y repentinos. En cuestión de horas, nuestra rutina cambió por completo. Después de múltiples exámenes, tomografías, consultas con especialistas y una biopsia, recibimos el diagnóstico: linfoma.

Esas palabras transformaron nuestra vida.

En el momento de la emergencia no contábamos con seguro médico activo, por lo que la hospitalización, las tomografías, la biopsia, las consultas con especialistas, y los honorarios médicos de ese periodo deben ser cubiertos por nosotros.

Gracias a Dios, hoy el cuenta con seguro médico que apoyará el tratamiento de Oscar en adelante, y estamos profundamente agradecidos por ello. Sin embargo, los gastos médicos de la emergencia y la recuperación inicial siguen siendo nuestra responsabilidad.
