Anna's Journey: From Illness to Impact

Hi friends,

My name is Anna Baez, and I’m stepping into a calling that has been on my heart since I was 16 years old—a calling to missions.

It all began at a YWAM Commission Camp in Kona, Hawaii. I remember feeling a deep sense that God was inviting me into something bigger than myself. That’s where I first heard about the Discipleship Training School (DTS), and something in me just knew that this was the next step.

Fast forward to today, after a journey I never could have imagined, I’m thrilled to share that this September, I’ll be attending a DTS with Circut Riders, in Huntington Beach, California, in partnership with Youth with a Mission (YWAM). This six-month program will train and equip me to share the Gospel boldly and authentically, and it will also stretch and grow my faith in incredible ways.

But this path hasn’t been easy.

About six months ago, I was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a rare and life-threatening condition. I was incredibly sick, unsure if I would even survive. It was the darkest valley I’ve ever walked through. But even in the pain, God never left me. He carried me, healed me, and showed me just how faithful He truly is.

That season refined me. It showed me what it means to truly surrender, to trust, and to hope even when the outcome is uncertain. I now carry a testimony of God’s healing power and unwavering love and character, and I believe with all my heart that He’s calling me to share that story with others.

The total cost of this DTS is $13,000, which covers the lecture phase, living expenses, and the outreach phase—where we’ll travel to college campuses across the U.S., meeting young people where they are and sharing the love of Jesus in real, tangible ways.
