Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister and my beloved fur niece, Maggie, a sweet and playful pup who recently experienced a frightening and painful emergency. Maggie, being her usual curious self, was playing outside when she accidentally got a stick lodged in her throat, causing tearing in her esophagus, It was a very terrifying and traumatic moment for her, and was rushed her to Pembina Emergency Vet right away.

After an urgent and thorough examination, the vet determined that Maggie needed a stomach tube to be placed so she could continue to get the nutrients and medications she needs without further damaging her throat. She was so brave throughout the entire process, and we’re relieved she’s now on the road to recovery.

However, the vet visit and procedure came with a heavy cost — a $6,000 bill — and that’s just the beginning. Maggie will likely need the feeding tube for a couple months, along with special food, medication, and pain relief to keep her comfortable and healing properly.

Maggies Paw rents doing everything they can to support her, but the costs are adding up quickly. That’s why we’re asking for a little help from friends, family, and animal lovers who know how much these furry family members mean to us.

Anything you can give — no matter how small — will go directly toward Maggie’s:

• Specialized veterinary-prescribed food
