For over ten years, I’ve had the privilege of working in immigration law, helping families and individuals build better lives here in our community. It’s always been more than just a job for me — it’s been a calling to serve people who need understanding, guidance, and compassion.
Earlier this year, I decided to take a new opportunity at a different law firm, hoping to continue that mission in a new setting. Unfortunately, it turned out that the firm didn’t share the same compassion for helping others that I’ve always believed in — and before I could even finish training, I was let go.
Since then, life has been a whirlwind. I applied for unemployment, but the process dragged on for weeks, and ultimately my claim was denied. That left me with over a month of no income — while still facing the usual bills: rent, car insurance, groceries, gas, and credit card payments. I’ve been applying to every job I can, interviewing when opportunities come, and even doing small gig jobs like house cleaning just to stay afloat. But as many know, it takes time to get back on your feet, and I’m close to exhausting what little savings I have left.
I’ve worked hard my entire life, even through the challenges of past mistakes that I’ve made and learned from. Asking for help is not something that comes easy to me — in fact, it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.,
If you’re able to help — in any amount — it would truly make a difference. Your kindness would help cover rent, keep food on the table, and give me the breathing room needed to land stable employment and crawl out of this nightmare.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for believing that sometimes the people who spend their lives helping others deserve a little help too.
