From Grief to Graduation: Help Daniel

Hello! My name is Daniel and all my life, I've been a writer. My late father was also a writer; a journalist, in fact. Before he died, we had dreams. Dreams of doing news together, dreams of creating stories together, even of running a news-based business together. Unfortunately, cancer took him away from us before our dreams could be realized. He and I didn't always get along, but the dream never faded. The last step before we could get started was that I finally take the plunge and enroll myself in college classes. It's almost ironic if it weren't so sad; the day after I enrolled, we got the news of his cancer. It took him quick; we got the diagnosis in September, and by December, he was gone. Now, I'll never get to prove to him that I have what it takes to realize our dreams, but I can still prove it to myself. I can still earn this bachelor's degree in his honor and do what we had originally set out to do. But I can't do it without help. Specifically, your help. Trump's draconian alterations to our education system are making it harder and harder to get by when you're an adult and have to pay rent while attending school. I've almost been out on the streets several times since starting this journey. I refuse to give up though, I will see this through. So I ask you to come on this journey with me, help me realize my dreams so that maybe one day, I can return your generosity with honest, objective, hard-hitting news that speaks truth to power and refuses to bend to the will of billionaires and oligarchs.
