Help Transform the Boyd Park Tunnel with Light and Art!

✨ About the Project

We’re two professional artists with a deep commitment to creating public artwork that sparks imagination, celebrates nature, and connects people. Our proposal for the Boyd Park Tunnel brings visionary mural concepts to life — centered around light, movement, and natural patterns — and designed to transform a utilitarian space into a vibrant pedestrian experience.

Our full cost estimate is $15,000, including $3,000 in in-kind labor already donated and $5,000 pledged by the Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association.

We’re seeking an additional $7,000 to complete this project, which will cover:

Eco-conscious supplies

Concrete primer & sealants

Protective finishes

Artist labor

UWEC student and community involvement is welcomed and will be coordinated by the artists.

The Vision

Lightscape

Imagine walking through a tunnel alive with colorful shadows. “Lightscape” features a pearly white kaleidoscopic mural activated by custom lighting — three-directional fixtures casting overlapping hues of magenta, yellow, and blue. As pedestrians pass, their silhouettes become part of a dynamic display, playing with light and color in real time.

Lighting to be upgraded and installed by city staff and not included in this fundraising goal.
