Hi! My name is Matthew Reffner, and I’m a cellist and recent graduate who’s been blessed with a last-minute opportunity to attend the Brevard Music Festival this summer, which starts today, June 16th!

I just returned from the DaPonte String Quartet Institute, where I had an amazing week studying chamber music with my quartet. I hadn’t planned on any other summer festivals this year especially since DaPonte was tuition-free. However, I recently found out that Brevard festival had a cello opening, and they offered me a spot!

The full cost of the program is around $10,000, but thanks to generous scholarships and a work-study position, most of that is covered. However, I still need to raise about $1,100 to cover the remaining balance and travel expenses.

This festival is a huge opportunity to grow as a musician, study with amazing faculty, and collaborate with other talented students from around the country. I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this campaign with others.
