At 16 years old, Devun Perry has earned the opportunity to represent Canada at the FIS Junior Freeride World Championships in Kappl, Austria.
Devun is a dedicated young athlete who has put countless hours into his sport. He trains hard, pushes himself, and has a genuine passion for freeride and competition. This hard work has paid off and established Devun as the top junior Canadian freeride snowboarder.
What makes us most proud, is the person he is beyond the snowboarding and competitions. Hardworking, humble and determined and always willing to encourage the younger kids coming up behind him. Devun has been giving back to the community through coaching kids camps with Sideway Strategies, where he has become someone so many young athletes look up to. He knows what it means to work hard for a dream and overcome set backs. He came back riding stronger than ever after he fractured his t-4 through t-8 vertebrae and his sternum resulting in major back surgery, but he never lost sight of what mattered most to him.
Travelling from Golden, B.C to kappl, Austria is a huge financial commitment along with the his regular regional competitions and travelling. Every donation, big or small will help him get one step closer to Austria… or possibly the Olympics one day as this discipline of snowboarding just was confirmed for the 2030 Olympics.
Thank you for supporting Devun, believing in him and helping him chase a dream. If you are unable to donate, just simply sharing this or cheering him on from the side lines means so much.
