Hi, my name is Brooklyn (or you can call me Brooke), and I'm raising funds to help pay for my bachelors degree in Law and Paralegal studies at the University of Cincinnati with the hopes in after, going to law school.
I started college at 25, a lot later than most. After years of attempts, I got my GED at 23, it was difficult but I knew I could do it (well some days). I had to wait until I was 25 to start to be considered an independent student and receive financial aid. College was hard, even at 25 but I was determined to graduate no matter what.
Some days were hard and I was worried I wasn't cut out for it but my very first semester I was invited to a national honor society and put on the Deans List (for every single semester after) and I currently hold a GPA of 4.00.
As for today, I work at a library and plan to go to law school after my Bachelors. I would like to go on after and earn my masters in library science. I want to be able to help those who were like me once, a child who couldn't afford lunch at school and the adult who struggled with their mental health.
Unfortunately after the recent change in financial aid policies I'm unable to receive barely any financial aid. I will continue to apply for scholarships, save and do whatever I can to continue my education.
I have worked so hard to get here and supporting me would make all the difference. If you can support me, I would appreciate it. If not, totally okay as well. Sharing is also huge.
