Hello, my name is Firas, and I'm reaching out to you from the heart of Canada with a mission that transcends borders and unites us in humanity. Today, I embark on a journey not just of miles, but of compassion and solidarity. Our goal is to bring a family of 8 people from Gaza Strip to Egypt, offering them a sanctuary and a fresh start.
In Gaza, life can be unpredictable and challenging, with limited opportunities for a peaceful and prosperous future. The family I aim to support has faced unimaginable hardships, and it is my deepest wish to provide them with the chance to live in safety, to access education and to enjoy the freedoms that many of us take for granted.
This mission is not just about relocation; it's about transformation. By coming together as a global community, we can offer this family hope and a new beginning. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us a step closer to making this dream a reality.
The family consists of nine people who are suffering and facing a lot of hardships. I will start with the head of the family, the father, Muhammad Abu Zubaida, who is 61 years old and an Arabic language teacher. The mother, Sawsan, 58 years old, she is housewife dedicated to caring for her family. The eldest sister, Marwa, is 32 years old and a she is an Islamic teacher. The elder brother, Khaled, is 31 years old and an Arabic language graduate. Next, we have Omar, who is 30 years old with a degree in security sciences. Safaa, who is 27 years old, is a psychology graduate. The younger sister, Batoul, is 13 years old. Lastly, Hassan he is 24 years old and holds a degree in interior design. The last person is Shihab El-Din how martyred in 2008.
These are the words of one of the family member that's in Gaza: " My name is Hassan Abu Zubaydah Amri, a 24-year-old interior design graduate. My graduation coincided with the start of a devastating conflict in Gaza, just one day after my ceremony on October 6th. Since then, the war has completely disrupted my career as an interior decorator and designer. It has also drastically altered my life and that of my family.
We were forced to leave our home in the Bureij camp in central Gaza, seeking refuge first in Nuseirat and then returning to Bureij in the hope of better conditions and once again we were forced to move into Rafah. Unfortunately, we continue to face severe shortages in basic necessities, Then coming back to Rafah; our current shelter lacks the most fundamental elements for a decent life, and the shadow of war looms over us constantly.
The war has taken a tremendous personal toll on me, claiming the lives of many friends and relatives, including a lifelong friend whom I regarded as a brother. The constant fear of loss me life haunts me every night and the fearing for my family's safety.
Our primary goal now is to find safety in Egypt, but the financial barrier is immense. The cost to evacuate one person from Gaza is exceedingly high, It could reach $7000CAD for one person to evacuate from Gaza. We desperately need your help to escape this genocidal conflict and safeguard what remains of our lives.
Your contribution can truly be the difference between life and death. We appreciate any donation, no matter how small; even a single cent can help us reach our goal of evacuation.
If you are unable to donate, you can still offer significant support by sharing our story with others.
Today, I am reaching out to ask for your support, however small it may be. Your generosity can significantly impact our lives and help us escape the horrors of war.
Thank you for considering our plea for help."
Hassan
With that being said, Each donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to achieving a our goal. Whether you've contributed financially or by sharing our story, you've played a crucial part in a journey of compassion and solidarity.
It's really difficult to send any funds to Gaza at this time. The only option we have is to send the money to the family through PayPal. We will ensure that the family receives the money safely. We will be completely transparent about how the money is being transferred to them and will try to find a better way for them to send the funds.
Thank you for standing with us. Your support is creating a safer, brighter future for Hassan and his family, proving that together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of those in need.
Warm regards,
Firas
