From Foster Care to 3.8 GPA — Keep Aalyrica’s College Dream

Hello, my name is Dr. Jenard D. Moore, and I am a Student Success Advocate and Founder of the EmpowerED Academy. Today, I am raising funds for Aalyrica to cover her Fall 2025 semester bill and to purchase a laptop, as she has completed all of her coursework so far on an iPad and library computers.
Aalyrica is from Ohio, and her story is one of resilience and determination. She and her four siblings spent time in foster care, and she is considered an independent student. Despite the challenges life has thrown her way, she is thriving academically with a 3.80 GPA and is entering her second semester as a freshman this fall.
She is a Business Management major with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, and she’s already showing the kind of drive that will make her a leader in her field. This summer, with the help of our Student Success Team and several faculty members, Aalyrica enrolled in both summer school sessions, completing credit hours toward her cosmetology license — all while working two jobs to help pay her tuition.
But right now, she faces a financial hurdle that could stop her progress. Her Fall 2025 tuition bill is due on August 8 at 5:00 PM, and she still has a remaining balance that she cannot cover on her own. Without immediate assistance, she risks being dropped from her classes and losing the momentum she’s worked so hard to build.
Your support — whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign — will directly help Aalyrica stay enrolled, continue her studies, and have the technology she needs to excel. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make an impact.
I have included her story and her bill with her permission for full transparency. She has given me permission to share both her story and the attached images so you can see exactly what your support will go toward.
Let’s rally together to show Aalyrica that she has a community behind her. With your help, we can ensure that her story continues at NCAT — and that she has the resources she needs to succeed.
Thank you for your generosity and for believing in the power of education to change lives.
