From East to [Mid]West
So I have been in the process of trying to move out to Minnesota to be with my girlfriend and her family and have been applying for 3-5 jobs a day, on top of working my regular 55 hour a week job. The only caveat is my company is extremely hesitant to allow me to transfer and the companies I've applied for are not keen on an out-of-state person applying for a job that needs to be filled almost immediately (despite me being qualified and, sometimes, overqualified). After talking to a former boss, he suggested finding a way to get in state and, once that's done, companies will be much more receptive to an applicant.
While job hunting is showing major signs of promise, I am forging ahead with this. $1500 will cover ALL moving expenses: gas, U-Haul, hotel expenses for 2 nights (as it's a 16-17 hour drive; approximately 1100 miles), food and incidentals. I can provide documentation showing what costs what as evidence and any proceeds left over will be donated to the American Cancer Society (as my girlfriend is a cancer survivor) or the local center where she is getting her chemotherapy done.
ALSO, if we hit the goal, she and I will do a joint stream for all backers as our way of saying thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Feel free to leave a comment. I will be happy to email you more information and my resume, if you would like.
Thank you for considering this goal and she and I, both, appreciate you!
