This fundraiser has been created on behalf of my friend Maher Lulu, a 28-year-old writer currently displaced in Gaza, and his immediate family. Maher, has entrusted me to create and manage this campaign to support him, his wife, and his family during this humanitarian crisis.

Maher and his family are civilians currently located in Gaza, where they have been displaced and have lost their home, livelihoods, and access to basic necessities.

All funds raised will be used strictly for civilian humanitarian needs, including food, clean water, shelter, medical needs, and basic living expenses, as well as to support rebuilding education and livelihood opportunities when possible.

Funds raised through this campaign will be sent directly to Maher Lulu via safe and legal money transfer methods permitted by GoFundMe and international regulations.

This fundraiser is not affiliated with any political party, armed group, or military effort, and no funds will be used for weapons, combat activities, or any form of armed conflict.

Hello, my name is Maher Lulu, a 28-year-old writer from the besieged Gaza Strip.

Despite the pain and destruction, I still believe in life and in the power of words. I have published four books, the latest of which was released during the recent war and had to be published abroad due to the collapse of basic living conditions in Gaza.

I lost my home, my library, and many loved ones. I was displaced more than ten times in two years.

Despite all this, I got engaged during the war. I was in southern Gaza, and my fiancée was in the north. We were only able to meet three months later, in January 2024, and we got married during the war. The conditions were extremely difficult. Immediately after our wedding, we packed our bags, preparing for the forced displacement from northern Gaza to the south. As newlyweds, we had to leave our home in search of safety, and we suffered greatly.

My wife is a lawyer who also lost her job and law office. Now, I want to rebuild my future, her future, and our future together.

We are trying to start again, step by step, hoping for brighter days ahead.
