I want to tell you my story — a story among a million others from young people in Gaza.

My name is Malek, and I’m 17 years old.

I was just a high school student, living a peaceful, stable life with my family of 8.

I used to go to school, play sports at the local club, and dream — like any teenager — of a bright future.

I hoped to finish high school with top grades, make my parents proud, and go to university.

One night, I went to sleep holding onto those dreams...

By morning, everything had changed.

Suddenly, chaos broke out. Bombing. Screaming. Destruction.

One airstrike was enough to wipe out our entire neighborhood.

I lost my home, my school, my friends, and my sense of safety.

My dreams were buried beneath the rubble.

Now, my family and I live in a tent made of nylon — it can’t protect us from the cold or the wild animals.

It offers no safety, no clean water, no electricity.

And now… not even food.

We never imagined that one day, we would die from hunger.

But that’s the reality now.

Our children cry all night from starvation.

People are collapsing in the streets of Gaza from hunger.

There’s no escape.

No future.

Just survival — and even that is becoming harder each day.

But I’m still here.

And I still believe there is good in this world.

That’s why I’m sharing my story with you now.

I don’t want to surrender.

I don’t want to die quietly while the world remains silent.
