Hi, my name is Nikki. I’m a single mother, a community-based occupational therapist, and a disability rights advocate. Every day, I work to ensure others have access to stability, safety, and dignity — and now, I’m asking for help to offer the same to my own family.

Due to circumstances outside our control, my family has experienced a prolonged period of housing instability. Though I’ve managed many challenges on my own, this upcoming move is one I can’t manage alone. I’m reaching out to the broader community to help us take this next step toward a safer, more stable future.

The environment we’ve been living in has not been conducive to well-being. Ongoing issues with safety, health hazards, and access to resources have made it increasingly urgent for us to relocate. At the same time, maintaining continuity for my children — particularly around their education and support needs — has meant significant financial and logistical strain, including long daily commutes and high utility and housing costs.

This move is about more than just logistics — it’s about rebuilding a foundation. It’s about reclaiming peace, preserving access to vital support systems, and creating a safe home where we can begin to recover and thrive.
