My name is Raúl, and I am a physician from Mexico who has dedicated the past years of my life to studying medicine, conducting research, and serving patients with the goal of improving healthcare in my community.
I come from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a place that has shaped my values, resilience, and commitment to helping others. After years of clinical training, academic work, and research, I was recently accepted to pursue a master’s degree at Harvard Medical School. This opportunity represents an important step in my professional development and in my long-term goal of contributing to medical research and improving healthcare access, particularly for communities that are often underrepresented in scientific work.
The program will allow me to deepen my training in clinical investigation and public health, areas that are essential for developing better strategies to address complex health challenges. However, the financial cost of studying in Boston is extremely high and exceeds what my family and I can realistically manage on our own.
My mother has always encouraged me to pursue education and to keep moving forward even when opportunities seemed far away. She was also the person who pushed me to share this story and ask for support through this campaign. The funds raised through this campaign will help cover essential expenses related to this academic opportunity, including tuition, housing, health insurance, and basic living costs during the program.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, would make a meaningful difference. Your support would not only help me continue my education at Harvard Medical School, but also allow me to continue pursuing a path in medicine, research, and service.
Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read my story and for any support you may be able to offer.

Thank you for believing in my future.
