Do You Believe in Miracles?

If you know my sister, you know she’s only ever wanted two things in life: horses and children.

She has poured her heart into raising other people’s kids for years, loving them, guiding them, giving all she has, while quietly believing maybe she would never have one of her own. God had other plans.

The adoption paperwork started back in March. A young mother, fighting chronic homelessness and addiction, wanted her baby girl to have the life she could not provide. She began the process while incarcerated, but when she was released near the end of her pregnancy, she disappeared. No phone. No address. No way to reach her.

The attorney refused to give up. She called hospitals. She called shelters. She prayed and waited. And God answered.

On August 28, 2025, at 3:36 p.m., a baby girl was born, in a Circle K gas station. Life arrives in the most impossible of places.

Bekki and Myk had no idea the attorney even had their information. On the morning of August 30, Bekki was sitting at her aunt’s dining room table in Arkansas, coffee in hand, enjoying a holiday weekend. The phone rang. She answered. And the words on the other end changed everything:

“Do you want a baby?”

It was total shock. No time to prepare. No nursery ready. No plan. Just a question. And suddenly, they were parents. Two weeks later, their daughter came home, healthy, safe, loved, and a living reminder of God’s timing and His miracles.

Talia Grace is home. Our miracle girl. But the journey isn’t finished.

Bekki and Myk have legal guardianship, but they need to finalize the adoption. Along with attorney fees, they face unpaid leave, travel, and all the costs that come with suddenly bringing home a newborn, costs they couldn’t have anticipated.

Our family knows both grief and struggle. In 2020, we lost our brother to a battle with addiction, a pain that left us broken and searching for hope. This young mother, too, has fought battles that no one should have to fight. And yet, in the midst of our shared brokenness, God has written redemption. He has taken lives touched by struggle and loss and, in His perfect timing, created life, love, and hope in this little girl. We carry our brother’s memory as we celebrate her miracle, proof that even in the darkest seasons, God brings new life.

Adoption is a miracle, but it is also expensive. No family should have to walk this road alone. Every gift, no matter the size, brings Bekki and Myk one step closer to making their daughter’s home forever.
