Thank you so much for considering helping support my dream of publishing my first children’s book! Writing has long been a passion of mine, and I have been feeling called to write books for a few years now. I have been joyfully working on The Perfect Little Pumpkin for the past few months.

What is this story about?

This endearing children’s story is about a little pumpkin who learns to overcome fear and eventually find safety, security, and a sense of belonging in her new family. As the story progresses, the little pumpkin learns important lessons like how to be present and appreciate each moment of her life. She also learns that joy comes not from having all the answers, but from being able to trust.

Where did the idea for this story come from?

The original idea for this story came from a pumpkin-related activity I did with my third-grade students. I created the first draft of the story as a model for my students to help them with the writing extension. The first draft planted seeds which later grew into the idea of continuing the story and making it into a children’s book. In addition to the experience from my classroom, I also drew inspiration from lessons I’ve learned in my personal life and from parenting my imaginative, expressive daughter Sarah.

How will the funds be used?

The funds will be used for the cost of illustrations, cover design, and text formatting.
