From Caregiver to Patient: Help lan Fight for His Life
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kim, and I’m fundraising for the love of my life — Ian.
We were just kids when we fell in love — 16 and 17 — and we’ve been side by side ever since. Through everything: planning for our future, dreaming about starting a family, and eventually, Ian becoming my full-time caretaker when my health declined.
But nothing could’ve prepared us for what happened on May 5th.
One phone call.
One near-accident.
One trip to the ER we thought was for a concussion
Turned into something no one ever expects to hear:
“You have a brain tumor.”
Ian was diagnosed with a large pituitary tumor — a mass in his brain that’s already begun stealing his vision, wreaking havoc on his hormones, causing intense migraines, and now bleeding internally.
The neurosurgeon gave us a terrifying reality check:
• No working
• No lifting
• No stress or strong emotions
Any wrong movement or pressure could cause the tumor to grow, spread, or become fatal.
Ian works with children — and he absolutely loves his job. He’s spent years pouring his heart into helping kids learn and grow, and nothing brings him more joy. But despite everything he’s facing, he’s still been trying to go to work, pushing through the pain and the risk, just to make sure we can stay afloat.
But the truth is, his doctors don’t want him working right now — at all — because one wrong move could cost him his life.
Now he’s being forced to choose between his health and going back to work — just so we can keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.
And I can’t let that happen.
Ian needs to rest. He needs to heal. He needs to survive. But we can’t do this alone.
After much prayer and heartbreak, we’re asking for help — something we never imagined we’d have to do.
Your donation will go directly toward:
• Rent and utilities
• Groceries and basic needs
• Transportation to medical appointments
• Giving Ian the time off he so desperately needs to safely recover and prepare for surgery
Even the smallest gift — or a share of this page — means more than we can say.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for walking with us during the scariest season of our lives. We believe in miracles, and we believe in community. Please help us give Ian the time he needs to fight — and survive.
With all our love,
Kim & Ian
