From Cancer Battle to Safe Haven Needed

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for stopping here and reading this. I have recently survived breast cancer and finished my radiation treatments. My roommate has picked up an alcohol addiction and I'm not an alcoholic. I don't drink it all so it is very difficult for me to be in this situation where someone is always screaming from the other room obscenities, calling me names, and verbally abusing me as well as screaming that hopefully the cancer will take over and kill me. I don't deserve to live in this kind of environment because someone has decided to start drinking. My daughter lives here and has been helping me get through all the treatments. She has witnessed the violence and when we reported it to our sheriff's office they said they cannot trust her testimony because she's my daughter. I just can't believe it. I am simply trying to raise enough funds for deposit to help move. I've been to Hubbard House but because this officer did not believe her I cannot get any help from the states attorney's office or from Hubbard House for relocation funds. I am simply trying to move away from the violence and all this negativity. I do not live like this and my daughter and I just need a little bit of financial help. We can cover rent and utilities but the upfront deposit and everything is just way too much. Any kind of help would be appreciated. We just need to get away from this violence. It has really taken a toll on my daughter and I psyche. Any help will be appreciated, I have been trying to move out of here for 2 months and cannot get any help from any of these resources. I've even tried Catholic charities but I can't get them to call me back and no one can give me any information. I even tried to get help from the United Way but they only help on Tuesdays and they don't answer the phone. I sat on hold for more than 2 hours when they said it would be a 34 minute wait and then it just cut me off. I don't know where else to turn for help. I've been to the Hubbard House outreach center, I can't get them to call me back or answer my emails. So I am trying this. Any help would be grateful. Thank you
