From Cabin to Classroom

Hi, my name is Will McKelvey and I am organizing an Eagle Scout project that will benefit inner-city students in Birmingham, AL. I am turning this cabin into a functional classroom for the Children's Fresh Air Farm, which will be used to teach 7th grade students reading, writing, and math skills that will impact them forever.  In 2019 the students improved 4 months in reading and 6 months in math skills over a 6 week learning program.

The scope of the project includes insulating the interior walls and ceiling, installing paneling throughout the cabin, removing an existing wall and painting all exposed beams.

Note: Any funds received over the $3600 goal and any funds not used during this project will be given directly to the Children's Fresh Air Farm to benefit students in the Summer Learning Program.

I want to personally thank each and every person that contributes to this project. This classroom will impact these students for many years.

More information about Childrens Fresh Air Farm: Children's Fresh Air Farm is a ministry of The Independent Presbyterian Church working collaboratively with the IPC Foundation to further its mission and goal which is to serve the Church, the community and the world.
