From Brain Surgery Survivor to Neuroscience Student

Hi, my name is Dominick Amoros and I’m seeking your support to help me turn a personal journey into a lifelong mission to help others.
I have been given the opportunity to study a Master degree in Applied Neuroscience at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK - Kings College London. While I’m working part-time to support my living costs, I am currently unable to fully cover the tuition fees for the first year.
At the age of 12, I underwent life-saving brain surgery. That experience changed my life and became the foundation of my deep desire to understand the human brain. It showed me firsthand how critical medical research and neuroscience are to saving and improving lives. Without it I wouldn’t be here.
Today, that personal journey has grown into a mission: to contribute to the advancement of neuroscience, particularly in the fight against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. My hope is to one day be part of research that not only deepens our understanding of the brain but also paves the way for new treatments and breakthroughs that bring real hope to patients and families.
Your contribution (no matter how small) will help fund my tuition and allow me to focus fully on my studies and research. It’s not just an investment in my education, but in the long-term goal of improving lives through neuroscience.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Together, we can make a real difference.
With gratitude,
Dominick Amoros
