Hi!

My name is Linnea Jensen and I am an artist living in Bornholm, a remote Danish island in the Baltic Sea.

I have been accepted for a three months residency at Kunstraum LLC, Brooklyn, New York from July to the end of September this year. The residency will provide me with a studio, and a mentor that will be giving me feedback on my work and advice me in my career.

At Kunstraum I will be connected with art curators and be able to network with the artists that have studios at the location. The residency also consists of participation in an exhibition at their gallery. Further, New York is the city where the most exciting art galleries reside and where I will be able to get inspiration and do some networking.

To be able to come to New York and have this exciting residency experience at Kunstraum LLC, will be of huge importance for my further career and work as an artist.

After going to art schools in Sweden, I have more or less been living on my art until 2009 when I took a break to create a yoga and outdoor business to be able as I was a single parent, to support my kids properly. When they moved from home in 2018 I moved out in a converted van and lived out in nature for three years and started to work as an artist again.

After three years out in the wilderness, I moved into a little cottage close to the sea on the island Bornholm. These life choices have been of great importance but are also isolating and make it hard to get back into the art scene.

Three months at Kunstraum will able me to develop my art and career as an artist and get more in the center of things. It will connect me with other artists and give me more exhibition opportunities that in turn will enhance my chance for acknowledging and providing.

The funds will be used to cover accommodations, studio costs, art supplies and a full board.
