From Bipolar to Lymphoma — Emily Needs Us Now

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nick, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my incredible fiancée, Emily. She’s one of the strongest, kindest people I’ve ever known — someone who lights up every room she walks into and has always dreamed of a life filled with love, purpose, and family.

In 2017, Emily was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. That chapter of her life was incredibly hard — navigating mental health struggles, stigma, and the long journey toward stability. But she never gave up. She fought through the darkness, not just for herself, but for the people she loves. She kept showing up, even when life made it nearly impossible.

Now, eight years later, she’s facing something even more terrifying: cancer.

What first seemed like a bad flu or cold around this time last year never went away. For months, she dealt with persistent fevers, coughing, intense night sweats, chills, body aches, and nausea. In October, after months of feeling worse, she went to get checked — but the results didn’t reveal anything.

Despite how sick she felt, Emily kept pushing forward. She went to work. She cared for our home, our two cats, our family, and me. She kept going — even when her body was clearly trying to tell her something was wrong.

On July 23rd, 2025, after nearly a year of worsening symptoms, she went back to the doctor. The next day, her bloodwork came back with concerning results, and she was told to go to the ER. What started as a simple blood transfusion quickly turned into a life-changing phone call the following morning:

“They think I have cancer.”

After days of testing and a biopsy, we received the official diagnosis: high-grade diffuse large B-cell lymphoma — an aggressive form of lymphoma.

Emily is scheduled to begin chemotherapy tomorrow, July 30th. Her treatment plan includes six 21-day cycles of chemo, with five days of active treatment followed by recovery time.

Why I’m Asking for Help:

Emily will not be able to work for the foreseeable future, and unfortunately, the bills don’t stop. Anyone who knows us knows how hard we’ve always worked to stay on top of everything without asking for help. But this is bigger than us, and we can’t get through it alone.

We’re asking for support to help with:

Ongoing medical expenses

Transportation to and from appointments

Bills and living costs while Emily steps away from work to heal

Anything that helps ease the burden during this incredibly hard time

She doesn’t deserve this. She deserves peace, healing, and a future. She’s already fought so hard in life — she shouldn’t have to fight alone.

If you can donate — no matter how small — it truly makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with your network. You never know who might be able to help.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for standing with Emily during the fight of her life.

With love,
Nick & Emily
