Fighting for Johan’s Future
Our beloved Johan has been faced with a devastating diagnosis: cancer. I’m Nicole, his sister and creating this to directly support Johan’s fight with cancer and his long road to recovery.
At just 28 years old, after dedicating his life to becoming a professional soccer player, Johan was diagnosed with high-grade osteosarcoma - a rare and aggressive bone cancer in his femur of his right leg.
Johan is now facing the fight of his life not only for his health but for his future.
This diagnosis brings more than emotional and physical challenges. The financial burden has quickly become overwhelming. Johan has already undergone emergency surgery overseas after his leg broke unexpectedly, revealing the tumor that changed the course of his life overnight. That surgery alone, plus multiple ER visits and uncovered medications, has left us with over $20,000 in medical debt.
Now, as we look ahead to the next phase of his treatment, we’re trying to raise what we can to cover what insurance won’t. The critical things that could give him a real fighting chance.
Right now, his only surgical options are heartbreaking. Doctors told us there are only three possible paths:
1. Full amputation of the leg.
2. Half amputation with a prosthetic reconstruction (rotationplasty)
3. Or a total femur implanted replacement. A massive surgery where he'd likely walk with a cane for the rest of his life.
Your support will go directly towards Johan’s:
• Medical debt relief from emergency surgery and treatment expenses
• Tumor testing and second opinions with other sarcoma specialists
• Travel and temporary housing if we need to access out of state care or clinical trials
• Ongoing cancer treatment and fertility preservation before chemotherapy starts
• Basic living expenses and physical therapy while Johan is unable to work
• Prosthetic leg costs to allow him to walk again… and eventually run and live an active life
We are not asking for comfort or extras, only for the resources needed to give Johan a fighting chance to live and rebuild his life.
If we are fortunate enough to raise more than he needs, all remaining funds will be donated to Seattle Children’s Hospital for cancer research so others might be spared the pain we’re walking through now.
We know times are tough for so many. If you can give, we’re deeply grateful. If not, please consider sharing Johan’s story. Your voice could bring us one step closer to hope.
While my brother focuses on treatment and recovery, I am helping manage the funds so he can put his energy into healing. All donations go directly toward his medical bills, treatment, medical equipment and recovery expenses.
Thank you for standing with him.
With love and gratitude,
Nicole Aleshchenko & The Muliadi Family
