On 7/31/25, my cousin Melodie experienced a devastating house fire. Her home and nearly all of her belongings were lost, with what remains deemed unsalvageable. Melodie is a recently legally blind single mother who has always found a way to keep going, but this loss has left her in an unimaginable position.

To make matters worse, she recently discovered that her renter’s insurance had been cancelled without her knowledge. She’s currently fighting to have the policy reinstated retroactively, but while that process unfolds, she’s doing her best to stay proactive.

I’m creating this GoFundMe on her behalf to ask for help. Not from a place of pity, but from a place of community. If you’re in a position to give, please pour from your overflow. And if giving financially isn’t possible, your prayers, kind words, and support mean just as much.
